This delightful little village is typical of the villages in the south of the Chaudière-Appalaches region. Perched at the top of a hill, the church and its outbuildings are the centrepiece of the village, which has developed on the southern side of the Appalachians. Saint-Benjamin was originally called “Lac à Busque”, owing to a small lake near the village that was named after the first settler. Today, this lake is bordered by Le Grand Héron golf club, which is renowned for the quality of its greens and originality of its course. It is built in an area with enchanting scenery, in the midst of a maple forest. In winter, it is also used as a gathering place for the region's quad riders. ATV trails are open year round.
