Called the snow goose capital, Montmagny plays host to thousands of geese in the spring and fall and celebrates their stopover with a large festival. Montmagny also comes alive during the Carrefour mondial de l'accordéon, an internationally renowned event that has won the heart of many music lovers. Steeped in over 360 years of history, Montmagny has also been able to preserve several of its heritage buildings, showcased during a specially designed tour. With its specialized shops and wonderful terraces, Old Montmagny has a unique European flair. In summer, this part of the city takes on a festive air with its pedestrian streets and array of shows. Sitting at the doorstep of the St. Lawrence, Montmagny proposes a wide range of activities, such as a cruise to the Isle-aux-Grues Archipelago, bird watching, golfing, biking, etc. The city is also noted for the diversity and quality of its tourist services, such as accommodations, restaurants, museums and green spaces.
