L'Islet is a municipality nestled “between river and mountain” that has changed significantly since 1677! Its name owes its origin to the discovery of an islet by Father Lejeune in 1633. To get there, take the Route du Quai. In addition to being treated to a splendid view, at low tide you can make a quick getaway to observe Father Panet's footprints on the rock of the same name and where a cross has been erected. You will also find the “Havre du Souvenir” park, which offers a program of cultural activities from Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24) to Labour Day. Take advantage of your stay to visit the Musée maritime du Québec and several monuments designated as historical landmarks. Take to the roads and let yourself be enchanted by the stunning scenery, particularly in the fall. In winter, discover the well-groomed cross-country skiing or snowmobile trails. In the spring, the columns of smoke rising from the numerous sugar shacks are an invitation to taste the area's maple products.
