The Canoe Route Le Beauchemin in the sector of Saint-Léon guides you along the 10 km of famous meanders of the Etchemin river in Saint-Léon-de-Standon. This activity is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of canoeing or kayaking, enjoy some bird watching, try a bit of fishing or simply relax with family or friends. Boat rental service available in July and August at the tourist centre in the village of Saint-Léon. For those with more experience, try Le Beauchemin Canoe Route - the Saint-Malachie sector offers 13.5 km of white water fun with Class I, II and II-III rapids. This sector has four free boat launching ramps. A new intermediate class sector is also located in Sainte-Claire. Two boat launch ramps are available. Go to www.crre.ca for the map.
