The City of Lévis results from the merge of ten municipalities on the southern shore of the St. Lawrence River, across from Québec City. Lévis stretches from the 300-year-old parish of Saint-Nicolas, in the west, to Pointe-de-Lévy, in the east. This corresponds to the former boundaries of the Lauzon Seigniory. Linked to Québec City by the Québec and Pierre-Laporte bridge, as well as the ferry service, Lévis is the main economic and urban development pole of the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
